Primary Care Registered Nurse (RN) - San Antonio VA Clinic

Location: San Antonio, TX

Primary Care Registered Nurse (RN) - San Antonio (SW Military) VA Clinic

Schedule: Monday - Friday (8 am - 5 pm) --No Nights, No Weekends, No On-Call shifts.


Requirements for Registered Nurse:  

  • Must have Primary Experience in an Outpatient Setting. (No Urgent Care or ER experience)
  • Must hold a degree in one of the following: (National Case Management Certification Preferred) 
    • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing 
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing 
    • Master's Degree in Nursing 
    • Associate Degree in Nursing 
  • Must hold a current and valid Nursing License in the state of Texas
  • Must hold a current and valid BLS Certification by the AHA
  • Must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience working with adults in a Primary Care/Outpatient Clinic Setting 
  • Proficiency with computers and word processing software (MS Office Suite) 


Registered Nurse Responsibilities (Clinical & Administrative):  

  • Educate patient and family regarding resources, wellness, promotion, etc. 
  • Diagnose and treat patient's unique responses to diagnosed health problems.
  • Perform health assessments.
  • Execute medical regimens as prescribed by Physicians, Dentists, Nurse Practitioners, etc. 
  • Perform comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessments. 
  • Document all patient service in EMR system. 
  • Perform necessary triage functions.
  • Utilize Vista/CPRS to schedule patient appointments. 
  • Develop and coordinate patient education programs.
  • Serve as a liaison among nursing staff and providers to improve the clinical experience for patient, staff and provider. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
