Clinical Psychologist - Naval Health Clinic Hawaii Makalapa

Location: Pearl Harbor, HI

PBHS has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to provide their expertise supporting our service members within the Behavioral Health Integration Program at the Naval Health Clinic Hawaii (NHCH) in Makalapa, HI!

Compensation: Competitive.

Schedule: M-F, no weekends.

  • Administer programs of treatment to mentally and emotionally disturbed individual adjustments to life; help medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuries. 
  • Assist in treating rehabilitation patients. 
  • Treat individuals in times of personal crisis such as a divorce or death of a loved one. 
  • Interview patients and study medical and social case histories, diagnose and evaluate mental and emotional disorders of individuals and administer programs of treatment. 
  • Provide concise documentation of care and recommendations in patient’s medical record in no less than 24 hours after the patient is seen.
  • Daily sessions to include individual and group appointments. 
  • Participate in group medical appointments including Shared Medical Appointments (SMA) and Drop in Group Medical Appointments (DIGMA) as requested by the PCM.
  • Provide technical direction and clinical insight into relevant projects being conducted at the site of service.


  • Possess a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an accredited university. 
  • Successful completion of a psychologist intern program which has been approved by the American Psychological Association. 
  • Possess either a one year fellowship or accredited residency in health psychology or behavioral medicine OR Possess one (1) year of experience in the last four (4) years in the evaluation and treatment of patients who have pain, psychological factors affecting their physical condition, or difficulty coping with medical problems, OR provide two (2) letters of recommendation written within the preceding two (2) years from practicing providers, supervisors or program administrators attesting to the HCW’s professional skills, competencies, patient rapport, training abilities, etc. Recommendation letters must include; name, title, phone number, date of recommendation, address and signature of the individual providing the recommendation.
  • Active license to practice as a psychologist in any US state!

Must be a US Citizen.
