IT Helpdesk Support Coordinator (NE 410 San Antonio)

Exciting Opportunity for an IT Helpdesk Support Coordinator

CRAssociates is a successful healthcare management organization that owns and operates Community Based Outpatient Clinics - CBOC's - in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Our Clinics specialize in primary care and preventative medicine for a Veteran patient population.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provide technical assistance, training and support to employees with issues related to computer systems, software and hardware for six medical clinics. Assists with routine maintenance and repair of the six Community Based Outpatient Clinics and Administrative office.

  • Location: NE 410 Clinic, San Antonio, TX
  • Schedule: M-F, 8-5; some on-call and weekends required
  • Compensation: Excellent; Full Time with benefits

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide timely high quality customer-focused assistance for employees having technical issues with workstations, printers, scanners, programs, network issues and phone issues.  Resolve these issues either on phone, remotely or onsite if need be.
  2. Upgrades workstations and devices, installs and tests equipment for proper functioning including PCs, networked printers, scanners, CD-ROM drives, and network interface cards.
  3. Provides a critical level of analysis in the repair cycle of non-operating hardware, utilizing vendor warranties and other contractual support for major hardware maintenance and repair.
  4. Utilizes basic knowledge of network protocols and network adapters to troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity problems, including wireless routers, switches, phone systems, cabling and ISP issues.
  5. Assist and train end users in Microsoft operating systems (Windows 10), Microsoft Office, VA VPN programs, other software application packages as needed.
  6. Assist and train end users with computer accessories and peripherals such as scanners, printers, copiers, phone systems, wireless, docking stations etc.
  7. Uses and consistently maintains the IT help desk support tacking software to enter, update and respond to requests for user IT support, phone issues, networking issues, and services issues.
  8. May be required to perform light facility maintenance.
  9. On-call duties to include responding immediately to pager 24 hours a day.
  10. Support Administrator in fostering a team environment to promote excellent patient care.
  11. Responsible and accountable for using safe work practices, for following all directives, policies and procedures and for assisting in maintaining a safe, secure and professional work environment while promoting an atmosphere of cooperation, respect and teamwork.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  2. 2 years of IT coursework in college or an applicable certificate such as CompTIA A+ or HDI Help Desk Certificate.
  3. Must have at least two (2) years’ experience supporting help desk functions for a high user environment, preferably in a clinic or hospital setting.
  4. Experience with latest Microsoft Operating Systems and Microsoft office package.
  5. Experience with Hardware and Software upgrades.
  6. Experience with setting up and troubleshooting IT networks in both LAN/WAN environments.
  7. Familiar with light maintenance / repairs of a facility.
  8. Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing with the issuing authority.
  9. Annual PPD (TB – tuberculosis) test.
  10. Must be a US Citizen.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds variable distances; mobility and flexibility to use ladders; ability to stoop, bend, crawl and kneel.
